The Trek Begins! Shatner’s World: We Just Live In It Opens on Broadway

William Shatner’s one-man Broadway show, Shatner’s World: We Just Live in It, opens February 16 at the Music Box Theatre. Directed by Scott Faris, the limited Broadway engagement will run through March 4.

In this one-man show, two-time Emmy winner Shatner will revisit his highest highs and lowest lows live on the Broadway stage for the first time since 1962. Though best known to TV fans for playing Captain Kirk on TV’s Star Trek, his many other screen credits include T.J. Hooker, Rescue 911, The Practice and Boston Legal. He previously appeared on Broadway in Tamburlaine the Great, The World of Suzie Wong and A Shot in the Dark.

“I've been pretty busy since I last played the Music Box,” Shatner said, of his Broadway absence, in a statement. “I've been refurbished; I hope the theatre has been too. My plan has always been to return to Broadway every 50 years. I can’t ask my fans to wait for me longer than Halley’s Comet, so I’m coming back."

The Broadway run of Shatner’s World will be followed by a 15-week national tour. The production features scenic design by Edward Pierce, lighting design by Ken Billington and sound design by Peter Fitzgerald.
